Welcome to the year 2050

 

The Tata Group is no stranger to leveraging technologies and exploring new ways of thinking. 
So when the Group was planning on re-opening the historic Bombay House, its global headquarters in Mumbai, it got us thinking. Visitors to the 94 year old heritage building were going to explore the Group’s milestones, prowess and achievements through the years. But we had a different perspective. Instead of looking back, we wanted to look forward, to the future.


To figure out where the Tata Group was going, we had to unravel where it came from - g
oing on a journey, all the way to Jamshedpur, and the year 2050
.


We created the Future Zone. A Virtual Reality Cave that immersed viewers in a dynamic, multi-sensory environment, as they navigated the future of living, working and entertainment by journeying through a futuristic Jamshedpur, created entirely in CG 
. 
Unencumbered by wires or devices, users were able to get as close to the action as possible, using touch and voice to: 

travel in an autonomous vehicle, 
send holographic versions of themselves to a smart manufacturing facility
, make themselves a virtual salad,
and even decide the outcome of a futuristic football match!
